It’s here, it’s here! It’s finally here! After (much) longer than I expected, I’ve finished the edits for The Tangled Web. I’m so excited to share the cover with you:
This book is the result of some of the happiest work I’ve ever done—and I owe it all to you! Thank you for reading, subscribing, asking great questions and everything you’ve done to support this work. I can’t wait to get it into your hot little hands!
Pre-orders will be up soon, and I’ll be sharing more details about the book over the next month: here, and on YouTube.
So what comes next?
With this book finally on its way to you, I’m ready to begin writing the followup, which I’m tentatively calling The Tangled Web Twists the Plot. In this book, I’ll be cataloguing every one of my 30+ plot twists—twists like “The Mastermind” or “The Inside Job.” I’ll be telling you how the twists work, what beliefs they violate, and how you can adapt them for use in your own novels.
Chapters will begin releasing on July 14, and at that point I’ll turn on subscriptions again. I really am so excited about this next book, and I can’t wait to be reaching out to all of you every week again so we can talk mysteries.
There’s more…
I’m also beginning a new feature for subscribers to The Perfect Crime: on Fridays from 5:30-7:30 I’ll be hosting Friday Night Writes, Zoom co-working sprints for all subscribers (free and paid).
Sprints are 25-minute co-working sessions in which we can each get our own writing done while providing social support to one another. I can’t wait to see your faces, spend some time together, and crank out a little work side by side. The first Friday Night Writes will take place July 11, and they’ll continue throughout the summer. Look for more details landing in your inbox soon!
Congratulations Jane!
I was wondering how the project was coming along. I happy to hear you completed the book, and you're even working on something new as well! Very impressive! I'm looking forward to reading them both.
Congratulations 🎉🎉 Can't wait to get my hands on it and see that gorgeous cover in person!
I love your writing advice—you've helped me so much in plotting and character development. I never thought mysteries were something I could write before I discovered your YouTube channel—so thank you for doing what you do!
Looking forward to reading your book and the next one!
