I couldn’t be more excited to finally have The Tangled Web out in the world!
I am so grateful to have had you along for the ride while I produced this book! Thank you for reading, commenting, asking questions, supporting the Substack, and just being in my corner! It has meant the world to me.
I’m especially proud of the print edition, which has tons of graphics, icons, and tables to help you grok all of the mystery writing concepts!
Basically, I’m just over the moon! If you’d like to purchase a copy, you can do so here! Now, back to writing the sequel…
Hi Jane, I can't wait to get started! Will it be available though kobo or if it only kindle? Now worries if not, I can always order the paperback
I've enjoyed your videos and articles for quite a while. I pre-ordered the book and started reading it shortly after it downloaded to my Kindle. For the content, alone, I will recommend this book to anyone interested in writing mystery novels.
I have one critique about the formatting: Putting line breaks between every paragraph (or double-spacing between paragraphs) looks really bad on any media except a computer screen (which is what I'm typing this comment on). It looks especially bad when a paragraph is followed by a bulleted or numbered list. You'll almost never see this done in traditional publishing, admittedly for cost-cutting reasons (in print). Generally, seeing line breaks between every paragraph makes a piece of writing look like a forum post.
If you ever decide to issue a new edition, please, only use line breaks to mark the separation of sections, and mark the start of a new paragraph with a first-line indent.
Again, I've seen enough of your work, already, to know that this book is full of great information. I will finish it and likely return to it many times. It will be one of the first books I recommend to anyone writing mystery.
